Simone Monte

Simone Monte is a Brazilian artist working primarily with photography. Trained in Drama and Theatre Arts, Monte spent several years immersed in experimental performance, video, and movement-based practices before shifting focus to image-making. Her multidisciplinary background continues to inform a visual language rooted in narrative and atmosphere.

Monte began working professionally as a photographer in São Paulo’s fashion industry, producing editorial work and campaigns for leading local brands. She later turned to personal projects, often exploring themes of urban life, identity, and cultural memory.

Her first independent body of work, Rio Series, was recognized by National Geographic, with the photograph The Game receiving an award.

Monte lives and works in São Paulo.
