Mirror (Drawing) 2024 reconfigures the scarab beetle, the ancient Egyptian symbol of transformation and rebirth as a reflection of a natural world gripped by accelerating change. Through a digital cameras linked to the carapace, these creatures become involuntary reflective shells, held up to viewers who encounter their own image. The work operates as a technological memento mori, a vanitas for an age of perpetual self-documentation, where AI curated worlds collapse distinctions between observer and observed, technological, human and non-human.
