Beneath the vast, open skies of South Australia lies a salt lake that feels like a moment from another world. At the heart of this surreal landscape you’ll find an unexpected sight, a Loch Ness monster statue rises from the lake, its mythical form adding a touch of wonder to the scene.

Salt lakes are like nature’s optical illusions, constantly changing with the light and weather. Shooting from above helped highlight the lake’s colours and reflective qualities, creating a sense of infinite space. The female presence (me) added a human touch, contrasting with the stillness of the outback. For me, this image is about capturing the delicate balance between the real and the surreal, where the vastness of the landscape meets a moment of quiet magic.
