Morena
'Morena' is a collection that explores the Mediterranean landscape, its colors, and everyday life.
It's an ongoing visual exploration in 2024 focused on the concept of fragility. It captures the vulnerable feeling of jumping into the open waters of the Mediterranean sea without knowing what lies beneath the water's surface. The research started with the project 'Brava', continued with 'Troballa', and concludes with 'Morena'.
It portrays a recursive visual fragmentation, inspired by the sunlight, sand, air, and the algae dancing with the undercurrents.
Visual errors appear among the fractures, as a custom-coded brush breaks forms apart intentionally, following intuition. Colors are borrowed from below the water surface and above.
Abstract images depict the movement of waves reaching the beach, rocks broken by the sea, sand accumulating on the beach, and the cyclic movement of life.
The digital artworks are generated by algorithms and are accompanied by physical giclée prints that are hand-cut and softly folded to add another layer of dynamics and randomness to the artworks.
