Carperdiem Experiments
Carpetdiem is a visualization of mathematical patterns through a generative interpretation of Azerbaijani carpet designs. Traditional carpets are meticulously woven by artisans, and the underlying code seeks to emulate their intricacies through simple yet sophisticated algorithms. At its core, the code employs fractals and recursion to generate a new design with each execution. Carpetdiem illustrates the magic of mathematics in a mesmerizing display of fractal geometry that unfolds infinitely like blossoming flowers. The spontaneously evolving designs captivate viewers with a hypnotic allure, transporting them on a journey akin to flying on a magic carpet. At the heart of this project lies the artist’s commitment to revealing the unique beauty of mathematics. Derived from the Sierpiński carpet formula, the recursive fractal system subdivides equilateral squares consecutively, generating different configurations each time and creating unique patterns autonomously.
