Perhaps one of the highlights of my time in Japan was the evening I spent exploring the Golden Gai, the golden district. It is a small network of many little alleys intertwined with one another next to Kabukicho, the red light district.
Even living in Asia, I have never come across so many small bars and clubs. It must have been around 3 am when I was exploring that maze. It surprised me that there were so many people still out and about, drinking, and having a merry time together.
For me, Golden Gai is one of the reasons I became a photographer. The small narrow alleys, the colorful lights, the tranquility. The more I look at this picture, the more details I notice, and the more I convince myself that I couldn't have taken a better photo to encapsulate this area of Tokyo.
