Palettes choices made in the AC were done to reinforce the texture feeling ; mostly low to mid saturated colors (except for Night ones but we will see that later) to match the coloured pencil texture on paper. William Mapan chose to associate each palette to a famous female figure. For example the "Sonia" palette is a tribute to Sonia Delauney a french artist related to geometric abstraction movement. What is a little bit less know is that, one palette is not a famous female figure but his muse. This is the "Camille" palette demonstrated here.
Looking at an Anticyclone, I'm often mezmerized at the subtle color continuity/change that occurs on each border of a guide. While most transition occurs without any visible change, some will switch colors while keeping the movement of the Anticyclone intact.
As a matching Spirit, I chose to have a similar vibe, with a turbulent core and low saturation colors intertwining in a complex structure
