The three Norns - Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld - are the three sisters that together weave the tapestry of fate that determines all reality: past, present and future. Each one of us is represented within this fabric as a unique strand. We may pull and tug at our threads in a futile attempt to exercise control, but we fall short, rippling at the untethered fabric of time and space.
Drawing from the source material of the Poetic Eddas and Skaldic poetry (Medieval and Viking aged literature), the aim of this series is to re-envision and transpose themes and motifs from the mythological realm into the digital space.
This series situates the artist as an instrument of fate, relinquishing control of the artwork to "destiny" through generative methods such as code variables, Moiré interference patterns, and algorithmic automation.
