FOLIO is a generative drawing system, inspired by concrete poetry and early computer artwork, that emits an output process for a given input. Each output may be realized digitally, in print, or through another medium. The drawing system, coded in JavaScript, recursively packs bins of data to fill the page, constrained entirely by the use of typographic glyphs and a limited mono-, duo-, or tri-colour palette.

Matt DesLauriers is a Canadian-born artist who focuses on a playful exploration of code as a creative medium, often driven by emergent, generative, and algorithmic processes. DesLauriers is an active member of the open-source community, and has held numerous talks, classes and workshops on creative coding such as the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture in London, FITC in Toronto and Amsterdam, Frontend Masters in Minneapolis, Central Saint Martins University of the Arts London, University of Oxford, and GROW in Paris.He has collaborated with various artists in developing interactive installations, which have been displayed in special events at the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto.
