Washington is a city I’ve only known through screens (films, series, fragments of news, and the polished weight of photographs)
My image of it is biased, assembled from distance, from symbols rather than lived personal experience.
So I approached this one differently. Not through memory, but through study. Hours spent breaking down silhouettes, understanding the balance between domes, columns etc, then letting all of that dissolve into my own language.
The Capitol, the White House, the Jefferson Memorial… I didn’t see them as political structures, but as shapes waiting to be reorganized, softened, rewritten, in my own language.
