Born on real walls, now alive on the blockchain. City in Bloom connects the Cities project with my mural practice, reimagined in Brazil.
Originally painted in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, outside a music venue called Vizinha (neighbor). I worked while music spilled into the street and neighbors stopped to talk. Those conversations revealed the warmth and happiness woven into Carioca life.
Every perspective of Rio felt surreal. Mountains frame the streets. Plants overtake the mountains. Colors flow in carnival rhythm. Patterns inspired by Roberto Burle Marx blend with graffiti. Movement echoes the joy of the city itself. We move, scatter, and find our rhythm again.
