This artwork is a representation of a bare, minimalist landscape. I drew inspiration from the way children often depict mountains in their drawings, with a simple horizon line and a few ridges, yet still effectively convey the sense scale. My aim was to capture this essence by focusing on a small number of crucial ridges and adding detail only where the terrain's slope was particularly steep. The main lines were then further accentuated by applying a simple smoothing technique, giving them a calligraphic appearance. The final artwork was created using a pen-plotter with an ink brush, adding a tangible quality to the piece. The red symbols are Cistercian glyphs, which encode the geographical location. The algorithmic process selectively removed much of the information present in topographical data.
