Shigeru Miyamoto is the creator of Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Star Fox and many other games. He is my favorite game designer and I'd argue one of the most consequential artists of the 20th century.
Miyamoto has said in interviews that his inspiration for Zelda was his childhood spent wandering through the woods, looking for caves, crossing streams and seeing the world in that magical, kid-like way. I didn't know any of this when I was a kid, but my own childhood was spent doing much the same thing, except that I would often map Zelda games onto my exploration. One of my favorite activities was wandering through the tall grass at the end of summer; it felt like it went on forever, and I would always find many, many treasures.
Caveats! It takes like 10-30 seconds to load. Give it a chance. This game was vibe coded in a day. I don't know what I'm doing. It works way better on desktop than on mobile.
