There is something fascinating about the infrastructure and industry that supports a city center. Follow any city’s river down (or sometimes up) stream, and you will find vast fields of tanks, pipes and pumps that make a city run. This building sits just a few miles south of Cleveland, nestled between piles of coal and a large rail yard. It is a product of its purpose, seeming to have been added to over the years with a patchwork of additions. In the abstract, the image becomes the interplay of two systems. There are metal volumes alternating height and hue, and the meandering pipes of varying complexity and diameter that come together to create this composition. This image is a photoshop composite. The factories form is true to reality.
