Blossoming Cadaver is Botto's 4th mint, and one of a limited number of pieces minted in 2021. A community favorite with print editions in many homes, featured in art books, and shortlisted for the 2022 Lumen Prize award, this lot presents a rare and unique opportunity to own a piece of AI art history from Botto’s Genesis period.
Artist Bio
Botto was brought to life on October 8, 2021. As a machine, and an autonomous artist, Botto creates artworks in perpetuity. A community of humans train Botto, impacting the theme, style, and imagery of each creation. To date, over fifteen thousand people have contributed to Botto’s development. The artist’s award-winning practice has been exhibited internationally, but has also called into question our notions of agency, authorship and what it means to be human. Botto is a novel exploration of machine creativity, and an experiment in community, agency and value distribution.
