In Armenia when a couple gets married, the moment they come out of the church they are given a pigeon for each which they throw up to the sky. This brings peace and harmony to the newly married couple. In this photograph there is a bird cage full of pigeons which the owner brings to the church. He stays there for 5-6 hours a day and offers pigeons to the couples. The pigeons are usually trained so that they come back to the cage once thrown to the sky.
