Current Events is a dreamlike animated journey through an underwater realm where language lives and breathes. In this aquatic world, words flow like ocean currents, letters swim as bioluminescent jellyfish, and coral formations grow into living typography.
Current Events follows a solitary figure's descent through six interconnected scenes: from the initial dive into flowing ribbons of text, through gardens where fish dart between floating letters, to cathedral passages where stories write themselves overhead, culminating in an explosive burst of knowledge before ascending back toward consciousness. This visual poem explores the fluidity between thought and dream, where the very act of storytelling becomes as organic and essential as breathing underwater.
//-------------- Here, words are predators.
They hunt in schools of neon pink, coil around my throat like promises I never asked for.
Letters break apart mid-swim, their fragments spelling out the names of things that don't exist yet.
In the cathedral of my drowning every sentence overhead writes itself into existence faster than I can read it.
The pearl explodes... knowledge scatters like a universe coming undone.
Each piece of light carries a word I almost understood before waking stole it back.
The current never stops. The events never end.
The dreaming never lets me surface completely.
