In order to cook this meal for you, I took the whole day off work. As it turned out, we didn't have some of the ingredients, so I had to go to the supermarket to buy them. Sadly, the car broke down on the way back. Since the tow truck was taking so long and I wanted to make sure to be home before you came back, I walked the rest of the way. I must have walked about 5 or 6 miles, at least, with those heavy grocery bags. Anyway, as I was cooking, because I was so exhausted and disoriented from the walk, I left the water boiling too long. Clumsy as I am, I burned my arm, badly. I cried for like 30 minutes from the pain. Thankfully, as you know, I’m a nurse so was able to take care of my own wound. Still, I think I will need to go to the hospital, as I’m sure I got a second-degree burn. It wasn't easy but, in spite of everything, I managed to complete the meal for you after all those hours. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you could consider all of this while you look me straight in the eye and eat it.
