Dear Maharini, please never lose hope. We are always here for you. God will never leave you behind. This piece is about you. ♥️
~ Two years ago, my older sister received a stage two breast cancer diagnosis shortly after giving birth to her second child. What's more, the cancer had progressed significantly, necessitating a mastectomy.
No one is ever truly prepared for a cancer diagnosis, especially a mother who has just given birth. The physical and mental burden is beyond imagination. However, she never wavered, never complained, and faced everything with unwavering courage, entrusting her best efforts to God.
None of us in the family could have foreseen this challenge. We explored various alternative treatments to avoid surgery, but unfortunately, it became apparent that surgery was the only means to contain the aggressiveness of the cancer.
Several months passed after the initial surgery and chemotherapy, and her condition gradually improved.
But not long after, cancer symptoms resurfaced. Her fatigue had hardly subsided when she had to confront the disease once more. This time, the cancer proved even more aggressive than the initial diagnosis, spreading to other areas and necessitating a second mastectomy.
The weight she bore was indescribable, and the frustration and stress were overwhelming. Yet, her faith remains unshaken, her spirit unextinguished. All she knew was to keep fighting and entrust the outcome to God.
