Player #248/256
An Observation made within Sam Spratt's "IX. The Monument Game" - In the late afternoon on the ground floor of Hotel l'Spratt lie two sisters. Twins. One basks in sun but is blind, the other her opposite.
“What do you see?” asks the blind one. “I see galaxies, footprints. Many pale dots. One has punctured Her; her pineal gland branded by a deity named Player 16. Must be a ruptured aneurysm. Doesn't look good.”
She goes quiet. She waits.
“If they see us–” “If they see us, we live forever.”
“Should we disappear–” “–Only then can the grooves left by our spines be seen.”
