Comments: We met Lawrence at Steve's art filled hotel, 21c, after he gave us the grand tour of his beloved building and grandiose art collection on display there. Lawrence was our waiter during brunch and we hit it off instantly. He was kind and cool with a lot of energy. I instantly knew I wanted to photograph him for the project while we were sitting during our meal. Beyonce' was in town and he was telling us all about her new album she just released. He was singing and dancing at work, his vibe was contagious! He walked us out and said he would be happy to be part of the project. We arrived at his home, his second gig was a dog sitting and groomer. It was a work from home ordeal. He had five dogs of his own. I fell in love with Bear. They were all so playful and it felt like one big family. We were all sitting on the couch talking about Beyonce's album, Renaissance, since he was heading to the concert with his friends that evening. He played it on repeat while we were over his house and I have to admit the songs, "Break my Soul" and "All Up in Your Mind", stayed with us for the remainder of the roadtrip. She really knows how to move you with her sounds and words; Like an inspirational speaker through her music. We became fans of Queen Bey that day. It was like an album listening party in his living room with his cozy cute pups. I started to to film Lawrence and his fuzzy family to mark this moment of friendship. We smoked a few bowls before heading back south on the road towards Atlanta, Georgia. His dogs sprung into action licking our faces as we said our goodbyes. Next time we come to Kentucky we said we would go with him to her next concert. We learned that Lawrence was the life blood of 21c Kentucky, and Steve was very lucky to have him working with him as he is bringing top notch hospitality to all of his guests at the hotel.
