Comments: Nyssa gave me a call and suggested we go see her best friend named, Lily. They were part of the same bohemian crew in New Orleans that would always hang out, make art, and party together. Lily answered and told us to come on by. She opened the door and asked if we wanted a cup of coffee. I politely rejected and brought out the tea set to serve Lily black tea before the photoshoot. We sat for a while talking and we learned more about her life down her in New Orleans. Lily seemed like a quiet and sweet girl who likes to smoke pot and craft pottery. She casually told us a story about an outfit she wore to the strip club she dances at, and I was genuinely confused for a second, yet intrigued. I asked her more about her job and she said she feels sexy doing it and its what paid the bills. Lily did mention her dream was to be an artist and make money selling artwork. I went ahead and started recording her portrait while she was crafting details on her latest masterpiece at her living room table. She looked up at me for a few seconds and back down to focus on the vase. I asked Lily to see more of the vases as I would be happy to support her artistic endeavors. We went out back and showed us the kiln in the shed and then into another room filled with shelves of different shapes of vases and sculptures. One particular piece caught my eye, it had three bubbly legs. The shape was organic and obscure. It was a beautiful piece that I had to have. She offered it to me for a couple hundred bucks. We were both happy to receive art and money. Lily kindly wrapped up the oblong shaped flower vase into a neat little brown box wrapped in paper. When we heard a knock on the door. It was another friend from their crew. He was in a band and was playing later in the week. I didn't catch his name, but he was a really sweet and cool guy. You could tell he had a big crush on Lily. By the way he looked and talked to her. It was a puppy kind of love. I couldn't help but think about what she had told us earlier. I shrugged it off... I was really rooting for them to fall into a romance together. I think the dude's name was Chad? It felt like time to go as I can feel that he wanted to spend some time alone with her. I thanked Lily for having us over, for her incredible artwork, and shook Chad's hand goodbye and wished him good luck on his music show. We hopped in the car and even though we had originally planned to stay in New Orleans for a couple more days Ethan and I decided in sync that we had enough of the humidity and wanted to get back on the road again to get a head start on the schedule to go deeper into the south. Our next stop was Alabama!
