Comments It was graduation day in Boulder. We pulled up to Kanali’s school to celebrate their big day. We were greeted with hugs and smiles by Anjali. She was proud and ecstatic for her daughter. We wanted to be brief as they had a full day of festivities with the school. I intended to honor their family, this achievement, their support as a portrait. The trees and grass started moving as the mother and daughter hugged. Parenting is a powerful force of nature. And, so is love! You can feel its wind. Off of the energy being ignited. The sensation of goosebumps on your arms, butterflies in your stomach, and a sudden chill going down the spine from the crown chakra. Their embrace was sweet. It’s not everyday that we get to witness this connection. And the graduation made it that much more special. Anjali thanked us for showing up and surprising her with this precious gift. For their family to remember; for us to be a part of a living artwork woven with memories and people. We hugged goodbye and took off in the Equinox to meet with Chris whose family will show up the next couple of days. A lot of this project is about love, family, connection, relationships, what it means to be human. To feel, to create empathy and compassion through the love we see and show. Moments that remind you about your past and future. A timeless story. A humble day of life on Earth.
