Comments: Once we got into Denver we met with my friend from art school, John G, at a hip yogi wellness cafe around the corner from our home. We were all in town for the 2023 Psychedelic Science conference. We had a healthy breakfast while catching up and planning the adventures for the week ahead. We wrapped up our pow wow and I started to get ready to discover and create with a local for the portrait of the day. I asked myself the mystery; who will we photograph today? In that exact moment, I looked up and saw John and Ethan talking to someone. They introduced me to Gerald . He was just getting off work and it suddenly hit me. This is it. This is the moment! I asked him if he would like to be the portrait of the day for our art project. He was psyched we asked him and he said, of course! Everything felt like it was unraveling... so gently, yet suddenly. We walked outside into the parking lot. As I turned to the guys, I noticed a beautiful mural on the side of his building. It all clicked! He told us he loved to dance. So, I suggested he dance for his clip. Mainly, to be yourself and express yourself! And he did. He surprised us with three cyclones. Whirling through the air like he was hardcore at parcour. It was magic to see it all unfolding so naturally... improvising on both sides of the camera... it was so REAL! Gerald calmly landed at the end of the ledge. He sat straight up and stared directly into the camera until the film ran out. Then the clip started over again in an endless loop of dance and stillness; a balance of chaos and composure. Like Sisyphus, constantly up and down the hill.
