Comments: Ethan and I started our morning at a different part of the river this time. A bit further north where we found crossing stones aside the bike path. We were running and exercising at sunrise along the river and took rest underneath a willow tree. Listening to the birds and watching people flow past us like the river over pebbles. Our friend Yuyu called us and said that he was bringing his friend, Miyako. He surprised us with tickets to a Kabuki theater show for us all to go see. He said he's never been to one so it was new for us all! Miyako arrived at the large stones. Her skin had a soft touch of white foundation shielding her face. She was glowing in the sun like a humble queen. Dressed in royal white traditional clothes and a sunbrella to protect her from the bright light. We started shooting and she skipped across the stones in her wood sandals. Miyako stopped in the middle of the river, where she faced the blazing sun and opened her umbrella. A peaceful gaze unto the horizon where the river disappears into the distance, back and forth, in both directions. We helped her back across and to the path and walked towards the theater. We entered the theater a few minutes before they closed the doors. Perfect timing... We sat and watched the play. The actors wore the face of comedy and the story was wearing the tears of tragedy. Women fighting over a man. A kingdom to wield his power. I turned around and saw Yuyu sleeping. Even though we could not understand the show because it was in Japanese, we all laughed together. The Jokes transcend languages and barriers. The humor connected the audience. The show was very long, and then suddenly it ended. Then another show began... We laughed. It was only the intermission! We walked outside to get some fresh air. We bonded over the show, asked them what it was all about, then we left to go drink green tea together.
