Comments: We walked to Shibuya to meet with the artist, Emi Kusano. Emi asked us to come see her exhibition at Bright Moments Japan. Being an early supporter of Bright Moments, and the reason for our trip to Japan, I was excited to see their new exhibition in a new city. Emi showed us her artworks in the show. This was the first time I saw her work and started collecting from her. The artwork I acquired was from the "Neural Fad" collection that Bright Moments released. Emi had an idea to do her video portrait outside at the iconic Shibuya crossing. We observed the movement of the crowds crossing flow over like a river. In synchronization we were the first people to the center. I stepped backwards a few feet to make space for the frame and focal planes. She stood in stillness. Present in the moment, yet surrounded by motion. She was the harmony in the chaos. The traffic light turned red and we left. Emi took us to a place nearby to have a world famous Japanese green tea matcha. We sat and talked for a while before she had to head home. Just as Ethan and I were leaving a robot greeted us at the table and took our empty cups.
