Comments: Captains log. We are in the heart of the Drakes Passage. The ocean is clear as glass and placid like a lake without wind hovering over its surface. Sometimes you hear 2 day horror stories about this merciless glacial strait. Rogue waves can strike from any side by the unstoppable forces while the ship is already rocking wildly from bow to stern through violent waters. We got really lucky. The captain of the vessel invited us onto the holodeck. The captain was a humble Argentinian man in a throne-like chair surrounded by sailors and sonar instruments keeping us on track and right on time. The floating automaton was doing all the heavy lifting. We just had to sit back and relax with the best view on the ship. The driver's seat. At one point the captain let me steer the ship, or so I thought... We lived on the water for 2 days before seeing a single Emperor penguin. We anchored near the beachy remnants of the Andes still protruding out of the ocean, which make up most of the land masses in the Antarctic. Nothing but snow white and blue glaciers with a golden sun that never sets or rises. Lots of whale activity in these parts. This is where they go this season when escaping the peril of the humans above. The ship was our home. Most of the people on the boat were over 50 except the crew. It was our mission to meet every single person on the ship. We made a pact to say hi and talk to every soul on board. We might as well, while we are all stuck on this hunk of luxurious metal together for the next two weeks! And, it's more fun when you know everyone.
