Comments: The misty morning welcomed my day on the farmland at the retired police officers guest house below his balcony where I stayed at. The officer told me he became a farmer. As he just retired right before the pandemic. He was thrilled to show me around with all of his domesticated animals in their play pens, including his precious oxen with a sprained foot. We got along real fast, he and I. Then started to think how ironic it was the night I had arrived I finished the rest of my weed smokes right under his nose before I found out he was the law man. The universe is a comedy and likes to play jokes on us. On my drive from Wellington to New Plymouth I passed a volcano called, Te Papakura O Taranaki. I wondered which Lord of the Rings movie that mountain was filmed in, perhaps Mordor, where the precious ring falleth to restore the order in the land? The clouds covered her softly as I passed by on the back side checking the rear view as stories of her height disappearing into the light grey sky. The sun was coming down in New Plymouth, when I had arrived to meet John and his pet rock Kiwi. A native flightless bird, which is a national symbol of New Zealand. He was a professional photographer and showed me all his works. While the sun was setting golden on his yard we made portraits of one another till the gold light also disappeared. Where does the light go when the day turns to night?
