Comments: Back in Berlin I revisited my gallerist, Anika from when we made her portrait during my exhibition. Now, next door at the gallery inside the mall, was her boyfriend Andre surrounded by a group exhibition of Anikas expansive artist roster. One name in particular, Herbert Franke, whose artwork Drakula graced the walll. Herbert was a pioneer and recently passed away. When I was running Quantum Art we curated his original computer artwork from the 80s minted as NFTs. It was one of the most successful drops on the platform. It was also the first time he saw massive appreciation and success from the art he has been innovating all of his life. His artwork is cemented on the blockchain and will always honor the legacy he created with algorithms and plotters. He was one of the first and best to do it. It is a great honor to have helped him while he was still alive and bring the love and awareness to his work. He got to see people fawning over his historic work. So, I ended up collecting that very work that was hanging on the wall to represent that connection, that bond we shared through his art and helping him mint it on the blockchain. This piece is like a relic of supporting other artists and having a piece to carry the past into the future. Rest in Peace Herbert, and thank you Anika for bringing us together to make his dreams come true and his family a foundation to preserve his memory and work.
