Comments: It just so happened to be the anniversary of the Hungarian revolution in Budapest when I drove to the city from a meeting from the author of "Atlas of Beauty" in western Romania. My buddy Andrew and a couple of his friends and I walked around the city at some of the memorial sites and sculptures. He pointed out a few bullet holes in the cement walls as we headed to the water. You can feel the heaviness in the air, yet it is a city with rich culture and sovereignty. It has great potential. It is somewhere I feel like I could live. Felt like living in a Baltic Berlin. Andrew stood in the street during our history lesson walkthrough the city. His black solar flared silhouette and his silver shadow reflected on the cement; Like a clock ticking as the cars pass, an hourglass, a human living sundial marked by the light through the street. A balance in the frame of a man and his shadow. Plato's allegory of the cave became the theater of the street. Wherever the light hits, is revealed in the real. And the shadows are but an age old attachment, a fixture made of the dark. So according to Socrates, which one is the real? As both are true to the eye and mind of the beholder. Reliant on experience, perception, and subjectivity.
