Comments: It was the final day in Iceland and we were headed back towards Reykjavik to catch the plane in the morning. We stopped at the lava field in Eldhraun. Earlier that week, we stood above the green gnoll overlooking the vast mossy landscape. A mystic horizon separated by the sea. A landscape where you can nearly hear or hallucinate the fairies and otherworldly creatures at play hiding in the field. It was in this moment I knew we must come back to make a portrait here before leaving Iceland. We were a few hours out and had not made a video for the day; Excited to revisit this beautiful and blissful scenery. We pulled up and there were a handful of people there. People came and went to snap a photo on their phone and leave. I even snapped a few photos of a couple on their I-phone. I sat and waited, for what I felt was the "right" person to represent this place. Time was on our side. Patiently sitting by a patch of moss I listened to the wind and watched the sun on the moss. I noticed a young photographer walked by and smiled. She took her photos and went back to her car. This was the person I had been waiting for. I walked back to my car to get my cameras. She was parked right next to us, and I introduced myself sharing about the art project and mission I was on. Laura happily agreed to be the model for the day, as she worked in the photography industry and knew what it was like to find a subject to shoot. I asked her to sit on the moss and be herself. This was the enchanted energy I had felt earlier in the week, the fairies in the field.
