Comments: Ethan suggested we go visit a special place from his time in the scouts, since we were passing through Vermont. He would often spend the summers living in these woods with his group. The trail was located in a place called Warren. We wandered down this path of memory lane. Ironically, the trailhead is called, Enchanted Forest Trail. and Enchanted it was. Perhaps because we were given more golden teachers by our hosts, Josh & Alex. We were their first guests ever in a home he had just built on his big property and they were starting a family. This couple were some of the kindest hosts we've had yet and spent a lot of time with them during our stay. Once Ethan and I were traversing the easy hike from his childhood we found a large meditative rock in a quiet open space. This was where he used to camp out with the group. I saw this massive boulder shaped like a yogi and called it the Buddha Rock. We sat here for many hours smoking joints, watching family of deers pass us by, talking about our trip so far and the road ahead, the memories Ethan had here as a child to reminisce coming back as an adult. Stoned in presence; Feeling the light beams catch us through the leaves of the trees before it started to down pour, washing us out of the forest. Thankfully, we have been sitting in peace and quiet for many hours before the first drop of water fell from the sky onto our wide-opened third eyes. The enchantedness of the forest remained, but that glowing feeling inside our brains from the mushrooms refrained. One of us said it was time to go just as the lighting lit up the sky. We looked at each other and laughed and at almost at the same time said, time for dinner! Pizza?! As it rained we found a cozy cottage with a large red coverage outside. We were happy to take any seat we can get. There were a few families that started to arrive as the heavy rain fell. Laughter, screams, and cries in all directions from the children and the parents. It's funny how water can effect us when its falling vertically down from above, differently speaking when walking through a flowing horizontal river. Even though it's made of the same stuff, the substance is true! Water, a liquid, something that covers the earth and fills our bodies more so than any other land mass or biological systems. Water is life, and we are made mostly of water. So why does it effect us when it lands on us so? I don't know. To not get wet when its raining, unless we are in control. With boots and an umbrella to counter act that same flow. Another substance that makes life so enjoyable is Pizza! Which came at the perfect time. Once the food landed in front of our faces a miracle had occurred. The rain stopped, the sun bursted through. A double, No! Triple rainbow emerged from the sky. From end to end on the horizon, a colorful heavenly glow through the fading mist. Everyone around us was in awe of natures brilliance, her spectral gift to us all. Ethan and I stared at the rainbow until the night drew the sky orange to purple then a shimmering black void with the shining stars that started ripping through the sky. The families around us started lighting fires and drinking beers. Time passes us by, not by minutes or moments but how the light shifts and changes throughout the day. The suns position, even if its clouded by grey. The movement is the measurement over distance is our interpretation of time passing. A quantum riddle, like the ever escaping present even if you try to read or write it down right... now... True presence is incalculable or descriptive. It just is... Something unnamed thats fleeting, yet deeply felt. Once you acknowledge it or call it out, its gone. It is a flow state from the great beyond. Being in the now is simply breathing right now. Ultimate presence is experience without trying to hold on to it. Because you can't, its already gone. These ideas were the result of taking a lesson from the golden teachers earlier in the day. Becoming philosophers on the come down after shedding away the ego and anxiety of old selves. Thank you Josh and Alex for sharing food of the gods; The sacred plant wisdom with us this afternoon. Right before we left, I laid beneath them to make their moving portrait, where they looked down at me. Like a newborn child being greeted with so much love by their parents for the first time ever through the portal of the womb from the collective unconscious. Awakened... Welcomed to this world my son. By Mom, Dad, the green trees and the blue sky as my fresh eyes were absorbing the light while looking back up towards the heavens. Earth is now my home.
