Comments: On the arrival into Maine the first stop was to have a couple of lobster rolls with St. Peter himself. The man who I thought was a Zeus like God with his big white beard back in Colorado, when he was generating a Taurus portal for the film. This time felt more human, without the psychedelics, his presence was candid. Seemingly more of a forest hermit than a mythical divinity. It’s funny how our minds can play tricks on us and perceive in one way, and when we revisit in a different place it can be another experience. I treated him to a famous Maine lobster roll and we caught up a bit. We smoked a couple joints outside before parting ways again. For dessert we planned to pick some blue berries to bring to Acadia National Park. We found a farm that was like a blueberry buffet. Pick and fill a basket to your hearts desire. It is the perfect season for this summer fruit in full bloom. Sweet and tart, big and small. It’s always more delicious when you can choose which ones to snack on than buying a plastic carton at the grocery store. These berries were fresh from mother earths breast. You can taste the connection than the refrigeration. We saddled up with two baskets and headed off in to the wilderness of Acadia. Our first stop was to find someone for me to photograph. Again, these situations are tough to spot. So many people but who to choose? It’s a feeling than a seeing. Not too focused on completing but letting it happen. So we ventured through different parts of the park. The lakes, the hikes, the walks, and finally the rocks. There I found a cute little family having a picnic on the stones. Making pictures of their families memories. There was a sweetness to bearing witness of this family. It reminded me of my own. As a little boy with mom and dad on a picnic in the park. One of my favorite photos of my heavenly mother was her and I sitting on a bright brown bench eating fruits surrounded by lush green grass. This memory was channeled into this moment. So I went over to Alex and Adrian, where I asked them to make art. At first they were shy until they saw my cameras and knew I was an artist on a mission. I made photos on their cameras first to gift them a memory for this family future album. Then directed them a bit to be themselves and their kid bonked mommy's nose. Another lovely young couple taking their son into nature showing them the beauty where the forest meets the water. I started to recognize a pattern in my recent videos. It was family. All the love and care, showing their kids the mighty national parks that dress our country. To foster an appreciation for nature, our one true home.
