Comments: We took refuge at Ethan's families house in Sarasota, Florida. It felt good to be in a place that felt familiar, that felt like home after being on the road for so long and not knowing when we would see or feel family again. We spent the first night painting and smoking in the outdoor porch that had a protective net fences against mosquitoes. Yet some microscopic flies found their way through and bit our heels and toes. We still had fun making art and making lots of noise laughing until sunrise after a micro-dose of mushrooms. Ethan wanted to show me his favorite park that we could go check out the water in the swamps of the everglades. We parked and walked around where we found this little bridge. I saw a man fishing under the bridge so we went over to him to see what he was catching. His name was Mark and he was smoking a big cigar while reeling in fish. I asked if we could make his portrait and he was fine with it. As I was shooting he pointed out a few massive gators floating heads waiting patiently for their prey to loose focus and forget they were even there. Gators are good at being still to the point where the water camouflages them as a ripple of a wave in the water. Nothing to worry about... Until they creep towards you with one fatal chomp! We noticed one, then another, and another! Holy shit there was like 5 of them, and counting! It was like a party under the bridge for these reptilians. Mark was laughing and kept his eye on them because he knew how these big fuckers caught their lunch. Just as he was catching his fish. We heard a commotion on the other side of the bridge. There were three drunk guys who were also fishing but also fucking around with the wrong gators. One guy was risking his life for a few laughs of his friends and the onlookers safely on the bridge. He didn't realize it but there was another gator closing in on him from behind while he was taunting the gator in front. Everyone was trying to warn him but his hubris got the best of him. The dude was playing with an ancient killer. The gators pounced from front and back and he was lucky to jump away and get back to his friends in time. The guy was being careless to impress people he did not know, just for a few laughs, but I am glad he is okay. Be careful and be aware, you do not want to get bit and become food for any alligator in Florida.
