Ambedo is a term coined by John Koenig in The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows. It describes:
“a kind of melancholic trance in which you become completely absorbed in vivid sensory details, raindrops skittering down a window, tall trees leaning in the wind, clouds of cream swirling in your coffee, briefly soaking in the experience of being alive.”
It’s about sinking into the moment, feeling everything and nothing all at once. A quiet, reflective immersion in the sensory present.
