I saw the Creed Trilogy recently. A series of movies that follow the story of a young man named Adonis with a paternal heritage in the very tedious sport of boxing. His father, who he never got to know, was a legend in the sport, and as much as Adonis tried to avoid that part of himself, it kept finding him as he was drawn to the sport, and he sought glory for himself, strictly wanting no connection with his father's name, just to build his own legacy.
He very quickly realized what manifesting his dreams of becoming world champion in such a sport would take.
Endless performance, strength, and resilience.
But one thing that stood out to me was the resilience.
To get to the top of his game, Adonis would have to take near-lethal hits, but make sure no matter what happens he finds the courage and bravery to stand up again.
In this I found myself in Adonis Creed. Seeking greatness and challenging the odds has taken so much from me, and sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it to throw myself right back into the process.
But I see it now. Just as Adonis had to face people quicker, stronger and even bigger than him
It was his resilience that consistently brought him back to winning ways.
It’s a tough pill to swallow, but it’s a mentality I know I must emulate.
So I Rise,
Never To Fall Again.
