The series started from me wanting to capture a way of making something very organic digital; from that, I searched for elements that could possibly come into play, from trees to mountains to animals, but fruits came as the best fit for the idea.
This approach would then lead me to challenge myself as to how to digitalize them while still maintaining their essence of “being alive”.
In my eyes, fruits symbolize a quick cycle - they grow, and not so long after they start to die; within that, the feeling of having to eternalize something that goes away fast would also be found symbolic when creating New-life, to Still-life.
Therefore, one of the objectives was also to merge the idea of eternalizing something that dies fast, while portraying it when it was in its peak of desirability/life. While still giving the usual touch of playfulness of capturing a distorted reality (of the viewer, or the image itself).
Also, in the collection, an empty bowl is shown; could be to place the fruits somewhere…although I see a bigger meaning in that.
