11: Proxima Centauri Crimson Amaryllis

Proxima Centauri is a small, low-mass red dwarf star located 4 light-years away from Earth in the southern constellation of Centaurus.

Proxima Centauri C is a super-Earth about 7 times as massive as Earth orbiting Proxima Centauri at roughly 1.49 astronomical units every 5 Earth years. Due to its large distance from Proxima Centauri, the planet surface's low equilibrium temperature are around 39 K (-234 °C).

Exobiological life forms found their habitats deep within the planet subsurface where convection within its liquid iron core produces heat and nutrient. In this environment, the Crimson Amaryllis found its home. Deep within the dark tunnels below the surface, the plant thrive on the subsurface heat source and nutrients producing magnificent crimson light and magnetic energy to attract pollinating insects.
