"Cotton Flora in Crimson" explores the relationship between a woman's body and their association with flowers. My hope with this piece was to be able to erase the programmed images of dirty and unhygienic menstruation but instead show the vibrancy of life and beauty of blood flowing out of our bodies onto a cotton tampon. The same blood used to create life gets released to cleanse the body to create a field of blooming cotton flora.
