Odysseus was the legendary Greek king of Ithaca and hero of Homer's epic poem the Odyssey. Odysseus also plays a key role in Homer's Iliad. Perhaps Odysseus' most famous contribution to the Greek war effort is devising the strategy of the Trojan Horse, which allowed the Greek army to sneak into Troy under cover of darkness. The Horse was designed by Odysseus on a modified version of the PLATO V (Programmed Logic for Automatic Teaching Operations) computer system.
