NIGHTMOVES is a 1/1/10, candid street photography collection from Dave Krugman that spans a decade of exploration of light in the neonoir setting of New York City by night. This collection is focused on the spectrum of artificial light against a natural dark, isolation in the density of the city, and the interplay of character and setting as found in these unstaged scenes. In these shadows, we can see ourselves, separated only by our luminous outlines.
As soon as the sun sets in New York City, the world of night emerges. Darkness envelops the streets, and, one by one, the lights flicker on to push against the shadows. Shades move like ghosts through this continuum- shifting, blocking, bending light- like spirits projected from some distant realm who fade away as fast as you first saw them. Every scene a stage for our shared story- motion at midnight, frozen in time, held still for just this instant- from dusk ‘til dawn is NIGHTMOVES
