by Jennifer Panepinto aka Quantum Spirit
Fluere is a new body of work by multidisciplinary artist Jennifer Panepinto, also known as Quantum Spirit. Born from an intentional departure from the digital realm, this series represents a return to the tactile, the imperfect, and the meditative. Conceived as an experiment in unlearning, these paintings reflect Panepinto’s process of dismantling the structured methods instilled through art school, reconnecting instead with an intuitive, childlike sense of wonder.
Influenced by outsider art and the joy of discovery found in Highlights magazine’s hidden-object illustrations, Fluere invites viewers to slow down, explore, and uncover the treasures nestled within each composition. Layers of mark-making, collage, and found materials transform the surface into a visual scavenger hunt—a landscape of symbols, textures, and emotional residue.
Drawing from her background in graphic design, Panepinto incorporates everyday printed materials and fragments of packaging—objects often overlooked but rich in human effort and care. Even items associated with healing, such as bandage wrappers, are repurposed as extensions of comfort and transformation, offering subtle meditations on anxiety, vulnerability, and repair.
Each mark flows like a stream of consciousness—unguarded, unjudged, and deeply personal. The repetition of lines becomes both a meditative practice and a metaphorical mesh that holds the chaos of reality together. Gold surfaces glint through layers of color, echoing ancient artifacts and the spiritual allure of the unknown, while playful hues evoke emotional resonance and a sense of levity.
Rooted in curiosity about the metaphysical and the mundane alike, Fluere celebrates the act of searching—whether for meaning, for beauty, or for connection. It shines a light on the ordinary, transforming the overlooked into something sacred. The series rejects pretension and welcomes all who approach it, offering a playful yet profound space where the physical and spiritual quietly intertwine.
