hold
the fire in between
The earth holds us, calls us back with its weight, forces us to fall, to bend, to touch the ground. Gravity makes us dance against it, acknowledge it. It doesn’t just bring us closer to the surface but to what lies beneath: the damp, the warm, the dark, the unknown.
But we also look upward. We stretch, we try to reach the sky. Between the ground and the air, we tense, we consume ourselves, we burn in that effort. We are not just body, nor just longing. We are the fire in between.
In this series, I work with early Stable Diffusion models, generating low-resolution images filled with imperfections, unstable forms, and traces of unfinished figures. From these fragments, I gather textures and contours that seem on the verge of disappearing.
With these seemingly meaningless and unrelated pieces, I create collages, where meaning emerges through the process. Pixels and artifacts become the raw material for each piece. The final image is never solid; it always seems about to dissolve. I am drawn to that edge, that moment when the visible is about to collapse—but still resists.
