The figure in this piece appears to be staring out directly at its audience, somehow capturing our attention and eye contact without any obvious markers to entice us. Instead of being met with a face to read and contemplate, we are faced with a blur of colour in a downward motion, making the figure appear heavy and burdened. This is further emphasised by the deep, cavernous red of the kinetic background. The figure, despite being absorbed within their own world, invites us in to get an intimate perspective of their experience. This is even more prevalent with the use of text which fills the background. When repeated, the text appears to mimic voices from the outer world as its meaning dissipates through semantic satiation.
