The painting has recently been displayed during CADAF Online 2020 (Contemporary & Digital Art Fair) and is currently exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Digital Art (MoCDA) in their art show “Digital Bodies, concerning bodily structures”, on view at mocda.org until Sept 30th. In Subtraction, absence is expressed through the contrast between purity and noise. The materiality of the piece, shown through layers of colors and texture, suggests a ritualistic flow of creation. Using paint to mask, the subject assumes disguise, showing an internal struggle in search of an identity to embrace. Layers of constructed oneness are in contact with the external world, emphasizing the friction between the physical human touch and the desire to rationalize the ephemerality of the digital medium.
