There is a Superfund site in northeast Ohio sitting upstream of hundreds of houses. It contains extremely toxic chemicals leftover from World War 2 that are contaminating the ground. Clusters of people have died from uncommon diseases in the area around this site. I was inspired to make Superfund by this little slice of hell. This painting collage uses the bright colors that can be seen in toxic spills and the texture of garbage. Even hell can be beautiful.
