There is a quality to the light in New York in late autumn that lends itself to my style of photography. Far reaching light, clean, crisp air, and Long shadows. As the short afternoons turn towards sunset, these traits are magnified. Our pilot had to maneuver a little further east than we normally would, and because of that, this frame was revealed. The Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges in alignment with the still relatively new Freedom Tower. All of that would have been enough for a good frame, but the shadows are what really made this image for me. As we moved north along the river, I tried to keep my framing, and exposures consistent to highlight all these elements.
