Year VI - 2020. Deep in the heart of the pandemic and shelter in place mandates, I took the opportunity to fly over Manhattan at sunrise. There are no real words to explain how odd it was to see little to no activity on the city streets below. Columbus Circle is a large intersection at the southwest corner of Central Park. At this time of day there would normally be throngs of people jogging in the park, taxis, street vendors, busses and cars everywhere. There was only the streets and the light. This has been one of my favorite images of that flight - because of the light, and because of the sheer starkness of the image.
