AI imagined painting created in a collaboration between artonomous, Kitty Simpson, and Pindar Van Arman. Kitty provided artonomous with a highly curated set of portraits. Pindar provided the robot with the data behind over one thousand previous robotic paintings. The robot then spent several months painting studies of more than fifty portraits using Kitty's photos with Pindar's data to fine tune it's algorithms. For this portrait, it used all of its training, practice, deep learning, and feedback loops to imagine a new image and render it with 32,881 brushstrokes on canvas.
