Shortly before my move from the Bay Area to Seattle, I took a trip out to Joshua Tree. It was my first time out there, and it was such a magical visit.
Unfortunately, the night before I was supposed to leave, a big fire broke out in San Bernadino National Forest. The smoke was all blowing east, towards Joshua Tree, making the air quality was absolutely awful.
As the sun started to set behind the smoke, the sky popped off. This photo was taken during that sunset.
